Little Dragon in Concert

OneTaste is excited to be hosting another showcase for Little Dragon in London. This one will be extra special as it is in the newly refurbished Garage in Highbury and Islington, kitted out with one of the phattttttest sound systems! BASS! And with the tunes of our resident DJ John Hendicott and support from the awesome Jono McCleery, who will be playing tracks from his new, yet to be released, electronic album, we're in for a proper treat!

Little Dragon

Little Dragon are a Swedish band of former high school buddies beating off the Gothenburg blues with condensation-forming tunes. Newest album 'Machine Dreams' offers more of their self-titled debut’s aural dialectic, which pits Yukimi Nagano frothing delivery with a Fever Ray-type eerie remove. What we have, then, are pop songs of less-is-more sensibility. Yet, despite the into-the-night sparseness of 'Machine Dreams', Little Dragon sound like they’re playing in your attic because of the near absence of fuzz and reverb and other studio tricks. 'Little Dragon', the band’s 2007 debut, was a Swedish iteration of American R&B and soul rendered by the synth machine, with some introspection shaved off Joy

Division.

Jono McCleery

Jono McCleery, soon to release his debut album on Ninja Tunes, will be performing his first show with his brand new sound. Jono is a powerfully gifted singer-songwriter that is defining the new folk/soul sound of our time, who for this performance will debut his new electronic sound with his band, The Dans and producer Fybe.

A true all rounder! John can be found jamming on stage with the collective, spinning records through the night, or in the studio producing music with singers and spoken word artists.John specialises in electronic hip hop, funk, and broken beats with a tendency to lean towards the big epic sound.Projects to look out for include a self titled album due later on this year, and album collaborations with young rappers like Chipmunk and Lady Lykez.
