Our INCREDIBLE line-up of serious entertainment:

Jono McCleery

Jono McCleery is a London based solo artist, recently signed to Ninja Tune. He completed his first album Darkest Light independently in 2008 which was self-produced and funded by fans, including folk-star Vashti Bunyan and BBC radio DJs Tom Robinson and Fiona Talkington. Jono has toured with the likes of Gil Scott Heron, Bonobo, Fink, Jose Gonzales, Little Dragon, Portico Quartet and sites his main influences as John Coltrane, Nick Drake, Bill Withers, Jeff Buckley and John Martyn. His new album There Is will be released soon on Ninja Tune.

Polarbear

Polarbear is a Brummie who speaks stories. Formed in the North Pole from a combination of Hip-Hop and Bukowski, he tells of everyday things for everyone to relate to.
His style and delivery will take you with him on journeys to places you’re sure you know.

“Just beautiful” – Colin Murray, BBC Radio 1
“The Yarn-spinning Brummie” – The Times

Nick Mulvey

Nick performed his first solo show with OneTaste back in 2007 and since then he has played in prestigious venues throughout London. Nick Mulvey sings and plays African-style acoustic guitar with a positive karma that you can feel in his music and hear in his words. The lyrics and melodies reach out and wrap around you leaving you with a little of that vibe for the rest of the day. Formerly a member of Mercury Award Nominated Jazz quartet Portico Quartet Nick Mulvey is a magical force.

Amber States

These guys are an amazing four piece band of banjo, cello, guitars and keys making up Amber States. They create a sound not unfamiliar in the burgeoning nu-folk scene, but they seem to steer clear of the hackneyed fiddle and guitar style that has become so popular and instead carve their own sound and produce a short but life-affirmingly magnetic set that gets the biggest crowd and the loudest cheer of the night. Their set is laden with catchy hooks, dreamy melodies, exhilarating builds and a toe tapping rhythms.

OneTaste Choir

The OneTaste
Choir, led by soul singer, Stac, perform close harmony a cappella songs at nearly every OneTaste event. The Choir have collaborated with artists such as Alice Russell, Inua Ellams, Aloe Blacc and many other OneTaste and non-OneTaste artists on special arrangements to add something magic to their music and spoken word. It’s an amazing thing having 15 girls singing together and we think you tasters are going to love it!

WITH SPECIAL GUEST:

Rachel Rose Reid

Rachel Rose Reid is a storyteller. Creating Live Lit performances to melt boundaries and build bridges between the oral tradition of our ancestors and the spoken word of today. She has been named a Rising Star by the Independent on Sunday, and is winner of the UK Young Storyteller of the Year.
