Masses of congratulations to both Stuart and Lisa and we must say, we are really looking forward to working with you both on all of our OneTaste events.

We sincerely apologise for the delay in announcing the winners, however, due to the extraordinarily close voting, it took a while to choose between them and thus we came to the fairest conclusion, to work with both!

Thank you very much to everyone who voted and many more thank you’s to all the amazing entries we received.  We were wonderfully overwhelmed by the entries and to see the creativity and passion coming through, was beautiful.

It all started two weeks ago when we heard from our friend Ginny who runs one of the most incredible Music based charities called The Music Lesson.  The charity uses music as a platform for cross-culture exchanges between young people in developing countries and their peers in the western world. The idea is that through music young people can create a pathway across the cultural divide, creating a relationship and deep connection between not only their two communities but the environments that surround them.

Ginny asked OneTaste if we could provide two OneTaste Collective members to spend some time in the small Mixe community of Tlahuitoltepec in Mexico and work with the CECAM Indigenous Music School, a school which has just 6 teachers to its 188 students.

So we sent our very own Mr Nick Mulvey and violin playing, music teaching, OneTaste Assistant Producer, Nava Kazemi along with students from Catholic Memorial to Mexico at the weekend. They are probably, right this very second working towards implementing a sustainable resident teaching program to help with the schools need for more teachers.  It’s incredible isn’t it!

Nick and Nava will be keeping us up to date with everything by posting blogs right here in our OneTaste Blogs section. We are so proud to be involved in this project and can not wait to hear about their progress and adventures.

Over the past three weeks we have opened our doors to find the new OneTaste Graphic Designer!

We have had so many amazing applications and design entries for our new OneTaste Open Mic flyer.

We have now short listed these down to five designs and we want YOU to make the final decision on which design best sings out OneTaste and who gets the job!

We would like to say a really big THANK YOU to all who applied to be our new OneTaste Graphic Designer!

The vote will be concluded and our new designer announced on Monday 2nd April…

At OneTaste we have an exciting and busy year ahead. The workload will include designs for our three monthly events, as well as festivals and one-off special events. Our publications reach thousands of people so this is a great opportunity for an artist or designer looking to showcase their creative talent with a wide audience.

How we choose:

Applicants will be sent a design brief and given one week to design a flyer for a new OneTaste event for 2012. This will be your opportunity to show us your skills and the style you feel best sings out ‘OneTaste’.

Design entries will be narrowed down and finally chosen by audience vote with work starting in April.

Applicants must be over 18 years old and live in the UK.

OneTaste is opening its doors to all musicians, poets, story tellers and performing artists for its first Open Mic!

This night aims to build a hub for the creative community of London to share art and ideas, spark new collaborations and create friendships in a jovial setting.

So, whether you are looking for a gig at OneTaste, wanting to try out your new material, in search of new collaborators or simply coming to hang out and embrace the unexpected, you will be warmly welcomed to this lively night of spontaneity and art.

Each night will also feature a headline OneTaste artist.

Way back in 2004, Dannii Evans and Jamie Woon, embarked on a journey to expose some of the most ridiculous talents of the exploding underground Music & Spoken World scenes throughout the UK.

It doesn’t feel that long ago that we hosted our first show in the Tavistock room at the top of The Bedford with Jamie Woon, Newton Faulkner, Paradox, Jono McCleery and Pepe Belmonte…300 shows later, we’re back at The Bedford on Sunday 11th December for our 7th Birthday!

Forever showcasing the best new musicians and poets about and always pulling in the acts that have made OneTaste what it is today, this line up is surely going to bring with it the party vibes a birthday needs!

Thank you to everyone who came down and made it such a fabulous day!

However, a biggest most MASSIVE THANK YOU has to go to all of the amazing artists that played and shared their music, words and art in all of the spaces; the delicious raw food and stunning décor; the brilliantly fun photo booth; and all the oodles of people behind the scenes, beavering away even today!

Now.  We must say now, 11th December is going to be an uber special date for your diary as it is our 7th BIRTHDAY!

We can’t believe it’s been seven whole years, since we hosted our first event with Jamie Woon, Newton Faulkner, Paradox, Jono McCleery and Pepe Belmonte…wow!

So, get ready for another super special night, one that will blow your musical poetry minds!
