Way back in 2004, Dannii Evans and Jamie Woon, embarked on a journey to expose some of the most ridiculous talents of the exploding underground Music & Spoken World scenes throughout the UK.

It doesn’t feel that long ago that we hosted our first show in the Tavistock room at the top of The Bedford with Jamie Woon, Newton Faulkner, Paradox, Jono McCleery and Pepe Belmonte…300 shows later, we’re back at The Bedford on Sunday 11th December for our 7th Birthday!

Forever showcasing the best new musicians and poets about and always pulling in the acts that have made OneTaste what it is today, this line up is surely going to bring with it the party vibes a birthday needs!

Our 6th annual OneTaste Festival is here!

We are so excited about this event, not only because the wonders of Alice Russell, John Adeleye, Jono McCleery, Nick Mulvey and 30 more acts are playing, but also because we get to share with you showcases from our favourite collectives around London that are making waves on the creative scenes:

Wah Wah 45s‘ bring their best live dance acts.

Arena Artists grave us with cosmic surrealist cabaret and The Moringa Tree are bringing the New Sounds of Africa right past our doorstep and into our party!

This festival is for you to come and discover your new favourite artists emerging out of the UK and feel inspired by the whirlwind of a day and night of jam packed with creativity in one place for one time only.

WATCH ONETASTE LIVE IN NYC!

We have fused together an international cast of artists from UK, USA, Palestine, Israel and Iraq to show what interdependence means to them.

SPEECH from Arrested Development has got behind the message and will be performing at the OneTaste show on the 12th: “I’m involved with the OneTaste show for Interdependence Day cuz it’s about artists coming together & bypassing political divides. It feels empowering and right.”

Also, from our own UK Collective we have Kate Tempest and MC Xander performing as well as old OneTaste friend, Ainsley Burrows and new artists, respected rapper and speaker The Narcicyst, Zora Howard, Rich Ferguson, Lotan Sapir and Ramzy Suleiman.

The show will be woven together by cult film ‘What About Me?’ by 1 Giant Leap and some short excerpts from up and coming film, Wakan Tanka.

It has been just over a week since we kicked off our Opening Ceremony for the OneTaste Arena at Secret Garden Party 2011!

There are SO many people to thank – the list is practically endless!  However, for such an epically amazing few days, one must still keep ones standards of manners high, thus:

Thank you SO much to all the crew, artists, workshopers, volunteers, riggers, production teams, tech teams, decorators, cake/curry/salad makers, revellers, audiences, listeners, participators…(lots of plurals)…for making our OneTaste at Secret Garden Party Arena the most amazing ever!

We had such the most wonderful time meeting so many new faces and especially warm and fuzzy feelings with the innumerate number of reunions of artists and audience members alike.

It was such a wonderful evening and we are so thrilled so many people came down to see us and listen to the wonderful artists who performed.

We are sorry to all those who tuned in online for the large delay to the ‘live’ streaming!  We did try to correct this at the time but we just weren’t able to, but we do hope you enjoyed it a lot all the same!

So what’s on the OneTaste agenda? Well…this lot so far…:

1st June: OneTaste at The Roebuck – NOW CANCELLED!!

Huge apologies to everyone who was coming down to our debut gig of OneTaste at The Roebuck, but we’ve had to cancel this show!

It’s not something we’ve ever done before and it’s frustrating that we’ve had to but hope you can understand. In the meantime, get your tickets for OneTaste at The Bedford and hope to see oodles of you there instead!!

19th June: OneTaste at The Bedford

After 6 months away from our home and heartland of The Bedford in Balham, we’ve finally made it back to The Globe!  We’re so excited to be home and even more excited with this joyous line up boasting the talents of: Holly Walker, Andy Craven-Griffiths, Moats & Thrones, Raymond Antrobus, OneTaste Choir and a special guest TBA…woo! Tickets are cheaper in advance so you’d better get them quick as they also give you a seat reservation too!

21st – 24th July: OneTaste at Secret Garden Party

Oh my goodness! This year we have been completely and totally honoured by the amazing Secret Garden Clan of Gardeners to host our own Arena…not an area but an ARENA! We have Music & Spoken Word, Workshops, Theatre, Mask Parades, Blindfolded Trance Dancing, Live Chainsaw Art, Arena Cabaret Show, delicious Veggie Café Food, Contact Yoga, Mime, Folk in a Box, Jam Sessions, Transformative Discussions with an international cast of dreamers and Jedi’s… and that’s not the artists that we’re having to make you have the best Secret Garden Party thus far! WOW!

The SGP Camp are not increasing the number of tickets for the first time this year and when they’ve all sold out, they’ve really completely sold out. Please get them as soon as you possibly can to avoid any disappointment as we’d love to party with you in the Garden!!

Over and out for now from OneTaste HQ – off to cycle home and have a nice cold glass of Rose…it’s only Monday but it feels like this week is going to be a very long one!
