Sam Hamilton
Sam Hamilton was born in Great Yarmouth UK.
He is an artist and designer and has been living and working in London for the past 15 years.
His artwork is inspired by 80′s cartoons, 90′s comic books, pop art,underground culture and the psychedelic nature of the Universe.
He is also co creator of the musical collective ‘T23 and The psychedelic Circus’.
His first on line comic was ‘Welcome to the Machine’ in 1996 and his comic book band ‘The Amino Acids from Outer Space’ in 1999 predates ‘Gorillaz’.
He has strong links with fashion labels ‘Maharishi’ and ‘Pepi’s’ and is currently part of the Arena Artists and One Taste collectives.
He has recently published a graphic novel Toonpunk Goes Loco On the Gringo Trail which you can read on line here
Over the years his work has been shown in clubs such as ‘Antiworld’ and ‘Sancho Panza’ as well as fine Art Galleries such as ‘The A and D Gallery’ ‘The Music Rooms’ and ‘The Foundry’.
Weather projected in a club, grafitti on a wall, paint on a canvass, or streamed as an animation through the internet, his work maintains it’s essence of innocent and challenging autobiographical cartoons.
Exhibitions include ‘Just Love Always’, ‘Microgigantism’ and ‘I’ll Be Your Mirror’ in Shoreditch, Camden and Soho, London, and ‘All Art is Edible’ in Barcelona, Spain.
